Original parts or Aftermarket parts?

I want to change the timing belt of my honda civic. Should I use original parts or aftermarket parts? What are the difference between those parts?

Are original parts more durable (hence the more expensive cost?)

Aftermarket parts are generally made to meet or exceed OEM specs. Almost all original parts are manufactured by an aftermarket company. You will also find that dealing with aparts store is better when it comes to any warranty issues with the part.
