Both ABS and Check break lights on after hitting a tire on freeway?
I just had my brakes replaced a few months ago, and about 6 weeks ago I hit a tire on the freeway going 50 miles per hour. The abs light and check brakes light both came on and have been on since. I took my truck to les schwab and they said they cannot find anything wrong, but when I apply the brakes about 75% of the time it make a noise that sounds much like someone running over a soda can and crushing it. The faster I am going when I apply the brakes the faster the noise repeats, slower speed = slower repeat of noise. The brakes seem to work fine. Any Ideas? Should I take it in to the dealer? Its a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer EXT. So its a big heavy vehicle and I am extremly nervous about this.
and yes I know brake is spelled wrong LOL its a typo
ok take it to a repair shop , tell them the story and they will scan the abs system there is a code stored for the Amber light to be on and the red ones on because you don't have full abs control. the soda can sound sounds like a backing plate maybe bent rubbing the rotors and or on some GM vehicals when the Abs system goes down there is a scaping sound from the left front wheel
