Brake Line Kit
will my jeep xj with a 3in lift need new shocks,brake lines, or anything else if i put on another 2in lift?
my jeep is a 95 cherokee it has a transfer case drop kit, and brake line relocater, and a 3" lift. and i do not know if i will need to change enything else on my car to work with the 2" shackle and spacer lift
You have to see how much slack is in your brake lines. That will be the factor. If too tight, you will need longer one's. The odd's are that you will need longer brake lines. They don't just give you longer ones than required for the most recient lift. You also might need a CV rear drive shaft, and you might need to adjust your axil pinion angle. Your axil u joints need to point tward the transfer case u joints.
The reason for using a CV drive shaft and adjusting pinion angle is to eliminate vibration. You can function mostly without them, but need them to avoid/minimize driveline vibrations.
You will also need a drop pitman arm for your steering box.
You should get shocks that work for a 5" lift as well. Keep in mind, you are talking about a 5" overall lift. Many people use a combo lift. i.e. springs plus spacers/shackles. Spacers are considered a budjet boost, or BB Many people list a "4" lift with a 2" BB"; or in your case a 3" lift with a 2" BB.
